7-Days – A Pilgrimage to Fatima, plus Lisbon





DAY 1: DEPART USA

We depart en route to Lisbon with complimentary meals and beverages served aloft.

DAY 2: LISBON / SANTAREM / FATIMA

Upon arrival in Lisbon this morning we are met by our Catholic Travel Centre representative. Our private motorcoach is waiting to take us to Fatima. En route to Fatima we stop at Santarem, site of a reported Miracle of the Eucharist. As we approach Fatima we stop at Batalha, home to the former Dominican cloister of Santa Maria da Vitoria. Tonight dinner is at the hotel in Fatima. (D)

DAY 3: FATIMA: VISIT OF THE SHRINE

Today we visit the Tombs of Francisco and Jacinta, the Aljustrel where the children lived, and the Valinhos, where Our Lady appeared after the children’s return from prison. We have the option of praying the Stations of the Cross, plus we have time for our own devotions. Tonight we enjoy a festive welcome dinner at a local restaurant. (B, D)

DAY 4: FATIMA: EXCURSION TO COIMBRA

This morning we begin with Mass at the Little Chapel of the apparitions. Then, we board our motor coach and make our way to Coimbra, the University Town. After a visit to Coimbra, we return in the afternoon to Fatima for the balance of our day at leisure for private devotions. Dinner is served at our hotel. (B, D)

DAY 5: FATIMA: EXCURSION TO NAZARE & ALCOBAHA

We depart Fatima for Nazare, a striking seaside village. Here, in the Chapel of Our Lady of Nazare on a cliff overlooking the ocean, we celebrate Mass. After some time for browsing the local markets of this fishing village, we continue to the Monastery of Saint Mary of Alcobaha, one of Portugal’s most impressive religious monuments. We return to Fatima for the evening. (B, D)

DAY 6: FATIMA / OBIDOS / LISBON

Our first stop of the day is the hill-side town of Obidos, known for its many striking chapels and craft and art shops displaying original handiworks. We continue to Lisbon to visit ‘Santo Antonio Da Se’, marking the site where in 1195 St. Anthony of Padua , the patron saint of Portugal, was born. We continue to the Cathedral, housing the Saint’s baptismal font. Our tour continues to view the Belem Tower and the gothic monastery of St. Jeronimo. Dinner is at the hotel. (B, D)

DAY 7: RETURN USA

We transfer to the airport for our return flight to the United States. (B)
